4th of July Dip Dyed Ice Cream Cones

The 4th of July is tomorrow, and the kids and I wanted to make a quick and easy patriotic snack.
I dip dyed these cake cones to give them a little patriotic punch to the plain old ice cream cone.
These cones will give a fun pop of color to your 4th of July festivities!

To Make Dip Dyed Cake Cones:

Fill two small bowls with about an inch of water.  Add 4-5 drops of food coloring to each bowl.

Take a cone and dip the top of the cone into the red dye

Place the cones on a wire rack with a cookie sheet below to catch the drips

After they have dried for a few minutes. Dip the bottom of the cones into the blue dye

Place them on the rack to dry for 24 hours.  You're probably wondering if they will still be soggy, cause that is exactly what I was thinking.  But after drying for 24 hours they are back to being their crunchy old selves!

After drying, top with ice cream and sprinkles or whatever topping that you would like! These dip dyed cones can be made with any colors. They would be perfect for birthday parties and team parties!
