Spring Golden Oreo Blondies

Spring Golden Oreo Blondies

At our house we are huge fans of Oreos.  We don't discriminate against any of the flavors.  We like them all...although, I myself, am partial to the Golden Oreos.  I will probably get some hate mail for this, but I'm not a huge fan of chocolate.  So, I usually stick to Vanilla flavored things.

On the blogosphere and on Pinterest, I've seen quite a few recipes for Oreo Brownies, but I haven't come across any with the Golden Oreos.  So, I set out today to make some Golden Oreo Blondies!

Golden Oreo Blondies
  • 2 sticks) unsalted butter, at room temperature
  • 1 3⁄4 cups firmly packed dark brown sugar
  • 1 1⁄2 tsp. vanilla extract
  • 3 eggs
  • 2 1⁄4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp. baking powder
  • 3⁄4 tsp. salt
  • 12-16 Golden Oreos
First, in a mixer, cream the butter, brown sugar and vanilla extract. Mix until combined.

Second, Add the salt, baking powder, and flour and mix until combined. Spray your 9x13 inch baking pan with non-stick spray, and put half of the batter into the bottom of the pan.

Take the Golden Oreos, and place 12-16 oreos on top of the batter

Pour the rest of the batter on top of the Oreos.

Bake in a 350 degree preheated oven for 30-35 minutes. They will come out looking like this

Let them cool for about 1 hour (if you can stand it;) and frost them with your favorite homemade butter cream frosting or store bought frosting, tinted yellow for Spring of course.

Finish them off with Spring colored sprinkles!

I will warn you that these are extremely sweet! But are oh so good!  If you eat too many you may be in a sugar coma.  I am not responsible for any sugar comas had because of eating these blondies. Too bad I'm trying to lose weight, and can't eat them right now ;)  What should I do with them now?
